NOT YOUR USUAL SUSPECTS

A group blog featuring an international array of killer mystery, suspense, and romantic suspense writers. With premises and story lines different from your run-of-the-mill whodunits, we tend to write outside the box. We blog several times a week on all topics relating to romantic suspense and mystery, our writing, and our readers. We welcome all comments and often have guest bloggers. All our authors can be contacted separately, too, using their own social media links.

We find our genre delightfully, dangerously, and deliciously exciting - join us here, if you do too!

NOTE: the blog is currently dormant but please enjoy the posts we're keeping online.

Living the Dream!

As a published author, many people believe I’m living the dream. And they’re right, of course. I love my job. It’s the best in the world.

However, I still have dreams, dreams that have nothing whatsoever to do with writing (although I may incorporate them into a story one day, of course). For instance, for more than 40 years, I’ve longed to see these magnificent Lipizzaner stallions.

As I have a big (terrifyingly big) birthday coming up in June, I decided to treat myself. Yes, I’m flying to Vienna with tickets for a performance at the Spanish Riding School gripped tightly in my hand. And I can’t wait.

How about you? What are you dreaming about? Are there items that have been on your bucket list for years - and years? I need to know. :)

Oh, my goodness, what a fabulous way to spend a terrifyingly big birthday! Congratulations!!

I'd like to go to Australia and New Zealand some day for a big, month-long trip. And I haven't been to England or France yet.

How wonderful. You will be amazed. Saw them there and at a training facility in Spain. It's breathtaking. Vienna is the most beautiful city. Sooo much to see and do. Sleep plenty before you go.:-)

I want a long trip to Australia and New Zealand too, Anne Marie. As for England - come on over. The natives are friendly. :)

Thanks for the tip, Rita. I'll 'try' to sleep plenty. So excited though. :) So glad you enjoyed seeing them - twice!

I'm not much of a traveller, but I have scary birthday coming up next year, too, and I'm thinking it's time to see Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Shirley, I'd love to see those horses! How cool you are going :)
Dreams... I've been so lucky. Maybe a real dream would be moving back to the UK--or maybe a REAL dream would be 6 months in Canada and 6 months in the UK? Not sure. I'm happy for now :) XOXOX

Shirley -- be sure to re-read Mary Stewart's Airs Above the Ground before you go! Have fun.

Iceland is on my list too, Marcelle. You must definitely do something fun to celebrate that scary birthday. :)

Toni, the REAL dream sounds wonderful. Great to spend 6 months here and then 6 months in Canada.

Thanks, Helena. I read Airs Above the Ground ages ago but I think I'll have a re-read. :)

I'm dreaming about climbing in your suitcase. :) I'd be very helpful. Every time you open your case I can hand you a tooth brush or something. :)
