I love to travel. I suspect part of the reason for that is my upbringing as a military child. My dad was in the Air Force and we were transferred to many different bases during my childhood. One of my fondest memories of travelling was when my family moved to the small island of Okinawa, Japan. I spent three years there attending high school and made some amazing memories and wonderful, lifelong friends.
So, it's probably no surprise to those who know me well, that my mystery novels are often filled with travel to exciting and different locales. In fact, just a week ago, I returned from a 10-day trip to Paris and London. Of course, the entire time I was there, I was mentally taking notes, wondering what situation I could create to get my characters there as soon as possible. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from my trip.
If you've read any of my geeky mysteries, you'll see how many places I take her and the gang. From Italy to Africa to Hollywood and Egypt ... those are just a few places so far. To finish off this blog, I'm going to share a trailer for my Lexi Carmichael mystery series that will show you just how much I enjoy traveling, even in my writing life. So, if you haven't had a chance to check out the series... Come Travel with Me!
By the way, where is the ONE place you've always wanted to travel?

Love to travel, too. Your photos really take me to the streets and shops, and of course my mouth watered at the sweet shop. Isn't Paris the city of love? Just saying it might be a good location for a few of your characters to find themselves in while solving a mystery.
Lovely pictures, Julie!
I want to see the Northern lights. I've been to Alaska, but didn't get to see them. We're thinking of trying Iceland.
We have been to many countries, but one I would love to see is Eqypt. My daughter had a fascination with Egypt since she was about four. I hope we are able to visit someday.
Thanks for taking us along on some of your trip, Julie! I've always wanted to visit Japan, both the cities and the countryside. I'm sure you'd have incredible insight about what it's like to travel there.
Wow, Julie. Great post, great trailer. What I love about your trailer is its speed, and the music adds to that effect. My experience with most trailers is that they are so s l o w. But yours is not. Great job. And to answer your question about where I want to visit, my dream destination keeps changing. Want the list? Ha!
Thanks, guys! Glad you enjoyed the bog and the pictures. Sandy, you can bet Lexi will be going to Paris sometime in the future!! Maureen, I l went through Iceland on the way to Paris and London and it was lovely from what I saw from the window. Would love to come back and do a stayover sometime!! May Your Mystery -- Egypt is #1 on my bucket list! I would have done it this summer in place of Paris and Rome, but the situation is pretty unstable there right now. So, I'm patiently waiting! Nico, Japan is awesome! The absolute best!! Jean, I'm so glad you like the trailer!! And yes, tell me at least ONE place on your bucket list! LoL!
I love to travel too!
The Great Barrier Reef is high on the list of places to go next
I want to go to Australia...
Me for Australia 🇦🇺, followed closely by England, and not just London.
