I told him that would make him a rat bastard pirate, and that he can afford the 99cents to download the real song from Amazon! :)Maureen A. As you say it's OUR book, and a matter of strong principle. And yes, the ARC issue has really upset trustworthy review sites and our promotion agencies who deal with them. This person will of course be blocked, when we find out for definite.

Anne Marie - disheartening statement on some human nature, isn't it? :(

Cathy - these people wouldn't give away *their* goods for free, you can bet. We already offer so much, you're right.Clare Londonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09392142798976142547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7545210782126483136.post-66162184076215565352017-04-12T21:47:17.275-07:002017-04-12T21:47:17.275-07:00It's so frustrating. There seems to be a mindset that "everything" should be available via the internet for free.
We all share content - ahem, this blog? our website? other formats? - to help readers, new writers, whoever your audience may be. But our books are ours to sell. We worked our butts off to create a story that entertains. Shout to the internet - quit stealing!
CathyPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04671747592743029540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7545210782126483136.post-80315640464823036722017-04-12T12:37:41.212-07:002017-04-12T12:37:41.212-07:00So sad that piracy is so common. Blasty (which suppresses search results in Google) and Must, which costs me more than I want to pay but I'm so pissed at the concept of piracy that I pay it anyway. Some people wonder why I go after pirates for a book that's free. It's MY book. That's why. MINE. I spent 6 months writing it. Paid to get it edited etc etc. There's one person who probably thinks they're my biggest fan.

Pirating an ARC is beyond crappy.
Toni Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09006694783089788568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7545210782126483136.post-66935816839736163022017-04-12T03:34:38.379-07:002017-04-12T03:34:38.379-07:00Wow - that is betrayal.
Piracy is infuriating and...Wow - that is betrayal.
Piracy is infuriating and, yes, I appreciate that the people who visit the free sites wouldn't download the book anyway, but that's not the point. I have Google alerts set up for my books but, as all they do is gleefully tell me of the many places I can download said book for free, I may have to cancel them.
