Interesting factoid: you can predict a child's success in school by the number of books in a household. Doesn't matter if they are cookbooks, mysteries, or classics. I think the threshold was 100--over that number, you could safely predict the child would go to college, and do well. Isn't that something?<br /><br />Cathy, I love Jenny Cruisie! She mentioned one--it was illegal in this town to "drink while riding a horse on Main Street." :)<br /><br />& Elise--that's a great idea! I have this old green-hardback copy of "The American Woman's Cookbook" which was my grandmother's. (My Dad get a coconut Cream Pie from that book for his birthday now and then.) One outside the storage closet--yes, there are two shelves there. Oh, how could I forget the books scattered about the office? Had them in order but then my husband retired--nuff said? My favorite tattered book is The American Heritage Cookbook. I have a lot of non-fiction, generally biographies and psych books, Law Enforcement stuff. I don't have enough dictionaries (who does?).
